A browser MCP that works in your own Chrome
A browser MCP is an MCP server that gives an AI agent tools for using a web browser. Beacon is one: it connects any MCP client to the Chrome you already use, with your sessions already in place.
How it works
- Install the Beacon Chrome extension and link it to your account.
- Add the Beacon MCP URL and your key to your MCP client.
- The agent calls tools such as observe, click, type, press, scroll, navigate and run.
- Commands travel through the hosted relay to the extension, and the page's response comes back the same way.
What the agent sees
The observe tool returns a short text map of the page. Every control in it has a stable id, and the agent passes that id back when it clicks or types, so it does not have to guess which button a label refers to.
The run tool executes several steps in one request, without a model call between each step.
Why a browser MCP at all
Many tasks live behind a login: dashboards, admin tools, inboxes. A browser MCP lets an agent work there the same way you would, in the tabs you already have access to.
